Could have been an UGLIER day to remember

On Saturday approx 248 LaPorte County time, my niece was involved in a Head On Collision. Lindsey was in Francesville, coming home from PURDUE.
Lindsey had to slow down because a vehicle was turn to the east in front of her. He too was heading north on 421. Lindsey told us that there was a car in the southbound lane, stopped to also turn to the east. He had to wait because of on coming traffic (Lindsey). As he was waiting his turn, behind him a hanicap accesible van driven by a woman from her wheelchair, didn't see the stopped car. At the last minute she swerved into oncoming traffic and hit Lindsey head on.
Fortunatly both of the airbags in Lindsey's car went off and I feel this is what saved her. Unfortunatly the woman drivers vehicle wasn't equipped with air bags, and she passed away, before being air lifted to any hospital.
Lindsey was not taken to the hospital, but Norm and Lori insisted that she go and they took her to Porter Memorial to be checked out. She has minor scratches, burns from the airbags, and brusing. Her left foot is hurting her, and the dr was concerned with the bump on the top. Her chest xray came back fine.
Lindsey's Guardian Angel was with her on Saturday afternoon. She wasn't ready to take Lindsey from us and she protected her, thanks OMA.
Norman, Lori, Leah, Ryan (Leah's Boyfriend) and Lauren all headed to Francesville. Mom and Dad also headed to Francesville. I left my house to be told not to come, but to meet them at their house. So once I was in Knox, I had lunch. Then found out that they were going to go to the hospital. So my plan was to meet them there, but since I had been called off once before, I called to make sure that is really where they were going. I felt like I was just driving in a big circle and not getting anywhere. I too needed to see Pea, I just couldn't get to her.
I had to make sure that I called my Dad. He is a worrier, and I wanted to make sure he was ok...... And he is, he is the one that really keeps us together. Mom was good, she was with the family as they were taking our Lindsey to the hospital.
I love them all as if they were my own.
Our news spread like wildfire. Thanks to everyone for their calls of support and well wishes. Everything means so much to the family.
Lori and Norman, even though your world crumbled for a minute, you never let her see how afraid you really were! Great Job, being strong parents.

If your a TROYER, then you gotta love FOOTBALL~!
We are getting ready for some football in the Troyer House!
This is our great nephew Nathan (Natey Boy to me) and he is all ready for the Bengals to start their season.
In November Steve (my stepson), Jarrod (our nephew), Kevin (my wonderful husband) and I (the boss) are going to California for a Raider football game. We are very excited to be able to go and do this. This was a birthday present to Kevin from me for his 50th birthday, well that was 3 years ago and we are just getting around to doing it. It works out great because Jarrod likes the Bengals and the rest of us like the Raiders! Once the trip is over, you know that I will post more about it, and show pictures.
This is the section we will be sitting in, ROW 6 and the rows start with number 5! I really know how to pick them, don't I!
I do have a question, can you leave someone at Alcatraz, and get away with it? I was just asking?????

Our Camping Trip ~ Santa Claus, INDIANA
I wanted to tell all of you about our camping trip this weekend. Well I need to start with the beginning of the week to tell you that I again have been sick. I have been having that dang lung issue going on where, I can not freakin breathe. I went to work but came home 2 afternoons early, 1 due to peeing my pant (not sharting this time) and 2 just because I was having more issues breathing.
Well by the time Friday night rolled around, I thought that I was better and ready to go. My dad called to tell me what I needed to know about pulling a camping trailer. THEN he told me that I needed to take care of my self, you know that people have been dying from Swine Flu. I said yes, I know that. He said well you know that if you get the swine flu your going to die. I now know that was his way of telling me that I need to take care of myself.
I went to sleep, got up in the morning, felt good, thought about going, and got my self all worked up. I had it figured out that if I went camping, I was going to get the swine flu and die. Yup this weekend it was going to happen to me.
So needless to say, I freaked out. I called my mom and 530 something her time, couldn't get her, called my sissy, woke her up, had to discuss it. Called my ABM from work, asked her what she thought, she told me that I should go, I didn't have the flu, and I would be ok. Called Kay who I work with, how talks to me about my sickness and what she thought. Woke Kevin up and talked to him. All this time, I was driving Leah, Lauren and Ryan nuts. I can't help it I am a freak. I just knew I was going to be 6 hours away and was going to be the only OLD person there and what was I going to do? I finally talked to my Mom and Dad. My dad was just trying to tell me that I needed to get a vaccination when ever they came out with one. But I was still crazed!@
Kevin help make the call. He said I had 3 choices, camp, stay home or go to Cedar Point!
Well we chose the POINT! Cedar Point is Ohio. This is a far cry from Southern Indiana. But the best part is that we are going to have a HOTEL, with good air.....!
We stayed in a hotel in Perrysburg Ohio the first night and had our christmas gift exchange. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE WERE GOING TO DO IN SANTA CLAUS, INDIANA...YOU KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS THERE EVERYDAY! We even had pizza delivered there and the kid noticed the Santa and Christmas Tree!

All having fun with The BIG GUY! Looks like he was falling for me!
Today we drove 45 minutes to our hotel, got money off tickets for the park and I dropped off all three at the park. I went to the mall, and then came back to the hotel and have been resting. Just being by myself and it has been great. I don't have any dogs to bug me to go in and out and I don't feel guilty not spending time with Kevin.
I am glad that we still went and did something and am happy that I was able to stay in the air. The humidity really jacks me up. I really isn't much fun when you can breathe.
I have been in contact with them all day. They are really having a great time. What I forgot to tell you is that Lauren wasn't going to go. She was going to just stay with me. I kind of made the decision for her and went and bought her ticket.
I have been talking to them and they are having a blast and so am I.
I have the car and will have to go and get them. Once they are ready to leave they can call and I can pick them up. The are 2 miles away.
We have an indoor water park here, bowling and lazar tag. We have until 11 pm tonight and then 9 am to 1pm tomorrow to also partake in activitys.
I love this kind of camping and thankful to all that helped me make a decision.
I need to get to the dr when I go home and talk to him about this Swine FLU crap!
XOXOXO

LaPorte County Fair 2009
Well it's that time again, the BIG LaPorte County Fair. I haven't been going to watch the kids for many years, but the years that I have been able to go have been fun. This year, I was lucky enough to take time off so that I could watch my nieces and nephew show their pigs.
You have to weigh them to make sure that they are in the required weight range for competition.
Wait, how the hell did these pictures get in here? I'm sure that this one is underweight, she's gonna have to go home and wait until next year.....!
Anyway, you have to wash them, so that they are pretty to compete. They really aren't to fond of bath time, but what ever!

Make sure that you give the animals plenty of water, so that they will not be thirsty. This is a smart pig, he knows how to drink from a hose.
Let them rest before the big event. It's okay to let them sleep, they have a big parade coming soon and they need to be well rested!
Now why your pigs are resting you need to pretty your self up for the judge, I mean judging. I think the girls got it goin on.
Mitchell is taking the easier approach, he's going just the way that he is! He's cute enough, he doesn't need any help!

Pigs, pigs, pigs! Every where are pigs. I have displayed a photo of each of the kids, showing their pigs. They all have there own style of showing. Madi likes to really use her show stick, sometimes too much. Morgan has the style of her cousins, patience. Mitchell always has his eyes on the judge. Lauren just smiles and has a great time! Leah enjoys herself while showing!
All the kids did a great job. They finished any where from 14th out of 15 to Reserve Grand Champion Gilt won by Miss Madi! Great job Madison.
SHOCK of the DAY! Leah was chosen 2009 Mental Attitude winner! In years past, a senior is normally chosen for this trophy. They called Leah to the ring as they were announcing the 10 year members. Leah let them know that she was not a 10 year member, but they told her to stay there and wait. They said they were going to ask her all kinds of questions! As they were talking about the recipient they said that she always said thank you, had a smile on her face and helped others. Leah thinks that by her helping out a fellow 4Her, by showing there pig and accepting the trophy for them while they were away, just showed that she does go beyond what is required of her.
You can sure see the happiness in her face! When I talked to Leah she said she about cried when they explained why they had her in the ring. I told her I too almost cried!
YUP Leah, it really is your trophy. You deserved it. After this winning moment the award winner was back in the show ring scooping poop. Lindsey was even over there helping out. She has been out of 4H for 1 year, and I know she really misses it.
Have to give a shout out to the clean up crew. You can see that they are all tired. Ryan was really a big help this year. For all the work he did he should have been in 4H. Thanks for your hard work Ryan. I appreciate you helping out my nieces and nephew.
The day was fun and tiring. I am glad I had today off, I needed time to recoop!
Good Night, I am tired!

First off you have to make sure that the pigs are ready for the fair. I think this one is trying to hide, so that possibly he/she won't get chosen.
Now for the BIG weigh in..............
