Memorial Day ~

Today is a day to remember those who fought for our freedom, and have died while serving our Country!

The Troyer tradition has been to plant flowers at the cemetaries for our family members. After the planting of the flowers, we would get together at my brother in law and sister in law's home for a late lunch. This year we missed the flower planting, but was able to still visit with the family.

This is the first year in a while that we did not partake in the events. Kevin and I went to Shipshewana. It was the first time for Kevin to go there. It was a mad house but we enjoyed ourselves. We met my BFF over there. She went with her sister Laura, and her dad's girlfriend Lucy.

If you have never been there it is a large flea market that is open from May to September, only on Tuesday and Wednesday. Because of the holiday they had extended hours. It is 52 miles from our house, and pretty easy to get to. Traffic once we got closer was crazy........

I have a concrete goose that I have had for years. Kelly got it for me one Christmas. She has been naked for many years. I was looking at "Goose" clothes, and Kevin said if I made her a bumble bee then I could buy some clothes.

So here she is, all dressed up!

We are going to redo our living room and it is going to be on the theme of a rustic cabin. When I say redo, I mean paint, put up border, install laminate floor and change lighting. You know that once we start doing it, I will be posting pictures. I saw this bench and really wanted it, so the lady made a great deal on it. I know that the pic is blurry but I have to post anyway. I plan on putting it in front of the picture window. It will give us seating for at least 2 more people. I just love it. It is very heavy and I think that it will go well in the room. If not, well I will like it anyway. We are going to leave this on the back porch until we get the room ready for it. This is a project that we will be working on.

We are getting better. Kevin's cheek is still numb. I think he may need another round of meds. We will see. I think he still has 3 days left. I still have some problems breathing, but that is normal, and it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Troyer the house of SICK

Is this all I ever talk about?

We seem to be the sickies. Kevin has had something for two weeks. I got sick in Chicago 1 week ago, and went to the DR the next day and found out I had bronchitis (go figure). I was getting well and Kevin was getting worse. Oh in the mean time, Mom got what I had. We were in Chicago picking Liz up and taking her to a DR appointment and then spent the night. I am surprised that Mom is the only one that got my illness. This last week Kevin went to the Dentist, thinking it was a tooth, and then the DR the next day to find that he has a severe sinus infection, which was trying to settle in his teeth. The right side of his face is numb, but he is feeling better. I am happy about that. I know what it is like to be sick and don't wish this on anyone else.

We had to cancel our lunch date with Lauren, because we didn't need to make her sick.

We are on the mend and I am happy to state that Kevin is not having to take any pain pills and was able to go to back to work........YAHOO!

IT SUCKS TO BE OLD AND SICKLY! WHERE DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS?????

The New Pool!

I don't know if I told everybody, but we got a new pool. I hate to brag about all the stuff that I get, but this really wasn't a big deal, at least not for me. As for Kricket she is super excited and can't wait till she gets to use it. We had to make sure that it was safety first or else she wasn't going to get to use it.

Safety First. Lauren made Kricket raise her left paw, swearing that she would follow all the rules when swimming.
NOW, I said pay attention. You can not eat before swimming, no diving, do not pee in the pool, and always have a phone near by in case of emergency! Kricket it waiting until we tell her it is ok to get in to the pool. Okay, I know that you can see she is already wet. She was having a blast.. As Lauren was filling the pool, Kricket kept running thru it. This dog loves the water, so we thought instead of her trying to get in our Hot Tub, we would by her, her own pool.

Mom this is soooooo much fun. I can't wait to invite all my friends over. I will make sure that I keep an eye on my sister. I know that she isn't really fond of the water!!!!!
Thanks MOM and DAD~
I love it ~ Kricket

Happy Mothers Day, all you mothers. Wait that doesn't sound right. Happy Mothers Day Girls. I wanted to take the time and wish you all a great day. It is a day of honor for all that you (we) go thru.

MY Mom is the best. She gives from her heart all the time. She is always there for us with little complaint. She started off young but was able to keep us all together. This in itself is a major milestone. We grew up together, learned and loved each other on the way. I don't know what I would have done if I would have been born into a different family. God chose the perfect Mom for me.

Just because I haven't birthed no babies, doesn't mean that I am not a mom. I have a step son, nieces and nephews, employees, a husband and of course my animals, all which I want to protect. If you know me, I am always trying to protect something or someone. I looked the word protect up in the dictionary and one of the words to describe it says Mother. "Protector: something that protects and nourishes like a mother" This is so me.

Have a GREAT DAY LADIES, we deserve it.

Love you all !

Tulip Time 2009 - - - - Holland Michigan

This was a nice, pre Mother's Day get together for us. My sister never, lets her hair down and just spends the day goofing off. Mom and I never have a problem doing something off the wall. I was so happy that she chose to come with. This will be a memory we will have for a life time. Mom was here when we was two years old, with her Mother. I am glad that we could do this with our Mother!

Today Mom, Lori, Leah, Lauren and I went to Holland Michigan for the viewing and buying of Tulips. It was chilly but fun.

I went crazy again and bought many bulbs. My problem is that I can't ever make up my mind and end up buying a shit load. I did check and I did not buy any of the colors I bought from last year. This I find really crazy.

Trying to figure out which one doesn't belong............. I would say the foreigner's in the background.

I think I need to look up a support group and get over this obsession with tulips. Possibly I could just move closer the the fields and pretend these are all mine.

I love them and I think next year I need to stay away. I am not sure if I would have any room for more? Well maybe I do????????

Lauren help me plant the bulbs last year, I think we planted about 150 bulbs. Guess who I will be looking for next fall? Yep, your right Lauren!!!!

P.S. I missed Lindsey today, I wish we could have had all the "White" Girls together. Maybe next time.

Can you say Bribery?

Everytime I go to my Mom and Dad's house they always give me money...... I love it! They spoil me left and right. I can' tell my siblings because they would be pissed off.
I really know that I am the favorite and they just put up with the others and their damn bratty kids.
Just kidding I found this on the table and thought it would be a great photo.
Love Ya Sissy~

Goodbye Great Weekend ~

What a pretty sunset. I was out stalking my tulips, which I do daily (morning and night) and I noticed the sunset. I thought that I would post it and talk a little bit about our weekend.

I feel we really got a lot accomplished this weekend. The weather was wonderful and I think this helped us get motivated. I know it may not be much, but let me share what we got done.

1. Yard mowed
2. Kevins truck cleaned
3. Hot tub filled, cleaned and running (heating up)
4. 7 Dream Queen hostas planted, they are green and yellow
5. 4 "Moonlight Broom" bushes planted
6. Laundry
7. Chinese lanterns hung on the back porch
8. Chelsea had her baby on Saturday, it is a little girl named Tanner Quinn Leedle
9. Mock Cookout with Jethro and Kevin (I used my fake George Foreman)
10. Kevin went to the movie with Jethro
11. We both worked our jobs, which are only 1/2 days on Saturdays

This is the Moonlight Broom bush, I was talking about. They are to grow 5X5, which will be nice color.
These are the Dream Queen hostas that I planted.

I like the color of these, they are really different than the usual ones.

I know that this picture is blurry, but I wanted to show my Sissy that we hung my birthday present from them on our back deck. I think they look cute. We will see how they do since they are paper. They do say indoor/outdoor!

Have a great week!

P.S. Can't forget my tulips. Mom, Lori, Leah, Lauren, Lindsey (I hope) and me are all going to Holland, Michigan next Saturday. We are going to look and the tulips. Yes, I will be buying more. 200 bulbs last year weren't enough.

2009 Prom - LaCrosse High School

I told you that I would be posting more Prom pictures of Lindsey. What a busy weekend. I think she really likes the dressing up and getting pretty flowers! I really like the pink......

Lindsey went to LaCrosse's prom tonight with friend Spence Schaffer. Last night's prom date, Drew is also attending this prom. Drew was a student at LaCrosse, until moving south. I think it is neat that he was asked by a fellow classmate to be her date for the night and he was able to come up for it.

Lindsey and Drew pose for another picture. They are really good friends, and have a great time when they are together.

I went to school in LaCrosse until half way thru the 4th grade, and then we moved to Union Mills. I think it is neat that the girls have friends from LaCrosse. Lori was in second grade and Richard never made it to LaCrosse, he went to kindergarten in Wanatah.

I know this has nothing to do with this blog, but since I am talking about LaCrosse, I have to tell you that I loved my 1st grade teacher, Mrs Heinold. She paddled me in for talking in class, imagine that..........?

I think Lindsey made a beautiful prom date, and we will be renting her out!

Too be young again...................................

Brown County High School Prom 2009

Tonight Lindsey went to the Prom with a friend of hers, that moved from LaCrosse back to the Nashville, Indiana area. Drew Hoskins now goes to Brown County High School. He asked Lindsey if she would make the 3 hour drive (one way) to come and go with him. Lindsey and Leah, along with more girlfriends stay in touch with Drew and have gone down to see him.

I wanted to post some pictures of how pretty she looked tonight. I am said that I couldn't see her in person, but my Mom made sure to email me these photos. Lori and Mom went along with Lindsey, so that she would have some family with her, as she enjoys her evening.

Speaking of LaCrosse, Lindsey is going with another friend tomorrow night to LaCrosse's prom. The funny thing is that Drew will also be going to that prom. The were both asked by friends that attend that school. So tomorrow night I will have more photos.

I think we said something to her like she could come up with maybe the slogan "Prom date needed? I have a dress and will travel!"
