Freddy the Frog!

This is a frog that Lauren found in our back yard. She had to bring him in to the house to show Kevin. As she was showing him, he peed on her.
We have to show off how big this frog was. He was really fat. (Sorry Freddy, I didn't mean to upset you)
I think he would make a great Chicken sandwich. YUM YUM!
Isn't he cute. This was the last time I will use that pink wash cloth, it now belongs to Freddy!
Lauren told me her Mom would be so proud!

This is a picture of Leah when she came to spend over the night at our house.
Prom 2009, looking so pretty!

Blow Leah, blow! You can do it girl.......

Leah is showing off her belt buckle for the fair! It looks like she won it at a wrestling match!

Tonight we went to the White House for a family dinner for Leah's birthday. Dinner was good, conversation was better and Leah's birthday presents were the best!

LaPorte County Fair 2009

Well it's that time again, the BIG LaPorte County Fair. I haven't been going to watch the kids for many years, but the years that I have been able to go have been fun. This year, I was lucky enough to take time off so that I could watch my nieces and nephew show their pigs.

First off you have to make sure that the pigs are ready for the fair. I think this one is trying to hide, so that possibly he/she won't get chosen.

Now for the BIG weigh in..............

You have to weigh them to make sure that they are in the required weight range for competition.
Wait, how the hell did these pictures get in here? I'm sure that this one is underweight, she's gonna have to go home and wait until next year.....!
Anyway, you have to wash them, so that they are pretty to compete. They really aren't to fond of bath time, but what ever!

Make sure that you give the animals plenty of water, so that they will not be thirsty. This is a smart pig, he knows how to drink from a hose. Let them rest before the big event. It's okay to let them sleep, they have a big parade coming soon and they need to be well rested!
Now why your pigs are resting you need to pretty your self up for the judge, I mean judging. I think the girls got it goin on.
Mitchell is taking the easier approach, he's going just the way that he is! He's cute enough, he doesn't need any help!

Pigs, pigs, pigs! Every where are pigs. I have displayed a photo of each of the kids, showing their pigs. They all have there own style of showing. Madi likes to really use her show stick, sometimes too much. Morgan has the style of her cousins, patience. Mitchell always has his eyes on the judge. Lauren just smiles and has a great time! Leah enjoys herself while showing!

All the kids did a great job. They finished any where from 14th out of 15 to Reserve Grand Champion Gilt won by Miss Madi! Great job Madison.
SHOCK of the DAY! Leah was chosen 2009 Mental Attitude winner! In years past, a senior is normally chosen for this trophy. They called Leah to the ring as they were announcing the 10 year members. Leah let them know that she was not a 10 year member, but they told her to stay there and wait. They said they were going to ask her all kinds of questions! As they were talking about the recipient they said that she always said thank you, had a smile on her face and helped others. Leah thinks that by her helping out a fellow 4Her, by showing there pig and accepting the trophy for them while they were away, just showed that she does go beyond what is required of her.
You can sure see the happiness in her face! When I talked to Leah she said she about cried when they explained why they had her in the ring. I told her I too almost cried!
YUP Leah, it really is your trophy. You deserved it. After this winning moment the award winner was back in the show ring scooping poop. Lindsey was even over there helping out. She has been out of 4H for 1 year, and I know she really misses it.
Have to give a shout out to the clean up crew. You can see that they are all tired. Ryan was really a big help this year. For all the work he did he should have been in 4H. Thanks for your hard work Ryan. I appreciate you helping out my nieces and nephew.

The day was fun and tiring. I am glad I had today off, I needed time to recoop!

Good Night, I am tired!

Happy 4th of July!

I wanted to say Happy 4th to everyone that reads my BLOG. We are getting ready to go watch fireworks in the rain. When I get home I will post photos and give you the hi lights of the day!

Holiday Weekend! It started out on Friday by going to Shipshewana with Kevin and Mom. We had a great day. Even better once we got to the store Kevin wanted to go to and he got to buy the GUN that he has been wanting. Some assult rifle ~ it's a guy thing.

Saturday came and we went to Mom's and picked her up to go to the parade. I felt like we were the Griswald's going to Wally World. We parked close and then three more spots later, I finally had it perfect. I finally parked as far away as I could but we had the best spot for when it was time to leave. Perfect planning.

Mom, Kevin and I waited for Richard, Morgan and Mitchell to join us. Finally Paul Good showed up will all them damn kids. We were set. It was strange not to have any White's sitting with us but they were going to be in the parade.

This was our Great Nephew, NATHAN WAYNE KING'S first 4th of July parade in LaPorte. His Mom and Uncle J brought him down for us to see. He is the cutest little guy in the world. I just love him to pieces. Such a happy little guy. I like to call him Natey Boy!

I was in constant contact with Flyover Central, aka Daddy, as he kept me posted as to when we would see the Flyover (which was the worst in years). He was also helping Weather Central and would tell us that it was starting to rain.

This is the tractor that my Dad also known as "A Man from Union Mills" sold to the LaPorte County Chapter of International Harvestor. My Dad sold it to the group so that it can be a money maker for the club that HE is a member of. This is a very rare, hard to find, not very many made tractor. When the Farmers Exchange newspaper printed the article, the only information about the seller, was that he was a man from Union Mills. It's didn't matter that he is a member, and the every other MEMBER was listed in the article, but thats beside the point, and I am a little bitter.

This is my Dad's 1947 International truck. Norm drove it in the parade. On back you will see a motor that is also a 1947 and it is a generator.

Lindsey and Ryan (Leah's boyfriend) rode on back. The little white sign by Lindsey cracked us up. As you can see in the photo below, what it actually said!

HOW PERFECT! This freakin cracked us UP! But I do believe that is pissed someone off, because when they went back to get the truck the signs were gone. Cry babies! I really suck at taking photos at the Parade. I was supposed to watch for my nieces, since they would be performing and these are the sucky photos I got. Sorry Girls........

The real reason I didn't get the pictures, is because I was busy dishing out HAM and CHEESE to the family. All of a sudden I look up and Leah is almost in front of me. She was too busy DANCING to yell for me so this is what I got........

Next we went to "The White House" for our annual get together.

As you can see this was the attire for the PARTY. It's just a little Wolff humor. We had an enjoyable day, eating and talking. New to the party this year were Ryan's Mom, StepDad, and StepBrothers. I think that they think that we are nuts. I hope not. It was fun having new people to entertain!

Then it was time for the fireworks. These were held at our nephew Jarrod (Jethro) 's house. And this is when it all came crashing down. I thought that my world was going to come to an end.

First I saw the light,

Then the smell,

the sound

and then the PAIN!

Already had our first casualty and it was me! I instantly thought they were going to get the wabulance and take me to the hospital. But I remembered we were right across the street. I thought will I lose my limb, gosh I hoped not. Are they going to have to use the paddles to start my heart? Will it need stitches? I felt faint, was I going to lose consciousness? Then the shock set it, and I seized!

Ok, part of this story isn't true and I will let you decide after seeing my wound which part was make believe, but I did get hit with a ROCK that was launched from the firecracker that my husband threw in the driveway.

I think that I am going to live. But I thought I would let you see my wound! I am such a baby.

Hope you all had a great HOLIDAY, because we sure did!
