The Troyer tradition has been to plant flowers at the cemetaries for our family members. After the planting of the flowers, we would get together at my brother in law and sister in law's home for a late lunch. This year we missed the flower planting, but was able to still visit with the family.
This is the first year in a while that we did not partake in the events. Kevin and I went to Shipshewana. It was the first time for Kevin to go there. It was a mad house but we enjoyed ourselves. We met my BFF over there. She went with her sister Laura, and her dad's girlfriend Lucy.
If you have never been there it is a large flea market that is open from May to September, only on Tuesday and Wednesday. Because of the holiday they had extended hours. It is 52 miles from our house, and pretty easy to get to. Traffic once we got closer was crazy........
I have a concrete goose that I have had for years. Kelly got it for me one Christmas. She has been naked for many years. I was looking at "Goose" clothes, and Kevin said if I made her a bumble bee then I could buy some clothes.
So here she is, all dressed up!
We are going to redo our living room and it is going to be on the theme of a rustic cabin. When I say redo, I mean paint, put up border, install laminate floor and change lighting. You know that once we start doing it, I will be posting pictures. I saw this bench and really wanted it, so the lady made a great deal on it. I know that the pic is blurry but I have to post anyway. I plan on putting it in front of the picture window. It will give us seating for at least 2 more people. I just love it. It is very heavy and I think that it will go well in the room. If not, well I will like it anyway. We are going to leave this on the back porch until we get the room ready for it. This is a project that we will be working on.
We are getting better. Kevin's cheek is still numb. I think he may need another round of meds. We will see. I think he still has 3 days left. I still have some problems breathing, but that is normal, and it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suzi, I think your bench is really neat looking. Nothing like I expected. I think it will be perfect in your livingroom, and as you said, another place for a couple more people to sit, (or nieces) I hope you get better soon, you sounded horrible on the phone
love you
I love that you're going for the CABIN look...i've seen that done before at a friends house and I love, love, love it! At mom's house we used to get a catalog that had TONS of that stuff in it..but can't remember the name of it? dangit.
Your lil' bee/goose is super cute and glad you enjoyed your M-Day trip to Ship (i'd type the rest of the name, but would prolly spell it wrong). Thanks for the comment on my blog, and for sharing the Jennifer's news about the harness too...maybe I could get her email address to write to her about it?
Hope you and Kevin are getting better...nonsense to be sick! See you at Jack's graduation party??? LOVE YOU
That bench is super cute! What a great find. Loving the bee-tiful goose all dressed up for summer. You should put some flowers by her, so little bee friends will come and visit with her. I'm excited to see updates of you room once you guys get started.
